18ct white gold natural sapphire and diamond halo ring, original vintage hallmark for 1980. Size P.5 (UK) size 7.75 (US). Diamonds are approximately H- K colour and VVS1 - VVS2 clarity. A stunning ring from the 1980s in the style of a halo with a round facet cut dark blue sapphire to the centre surrounded by 8 x natural brilliant cut diamonds. Inspired by the famous Lady Di engagement ring. This centre sapphire measures 6.5 mm in diameter and a deep pavilion with a carat weight of 1.52 ct along with a total of 0.52ct of diamonds. Whilst the stones have been tested and measured the carat weight is estimated as the stones are set. The front of the ring is 14 mm wide with a rise of 9 mm and has a weight of 5.3 grams. This wonderful and original sapphire and diamond halo cluster ring has hallmarks for 750 (18ct), Sheffield, date letter for 1980 and a sponsor's mark ‘H.S.’
Upon observation the dark blue sapphire is natural and shows tiny rutile inclusion when viewed 10x, having dark green undertones to its colour, most probable origin being Australia. Again upon inspection using 10 x magnification there is a minute nibble to the girdle edge of the sapphire which is not apparent when worn. Diamonds colour H- K and VVS1 - VVS2 clarity approx. In amazing condition for a vintage ring. Please note that the antique box is not included, this ring will come in a new ring box.

Is my item insured?
We unfortunately cannot be held responsible for items which go missing in the post (rest assured, this is an exceptionally rare situation), we always obtain a receipt to prove that we have fulfilled our duties and have shipped the item via whichever method you selected. If you selected International Tracked delivery then we can file an insurance claim to seek reimbursement for the missing parcel up to the value of £250 (please be aware that any successful insurance claims will be forwarded to the customer upon our receipt of them and not before); however if you selected standard airmail then no compensation can be claimed.
